Abstract
This article explores methodologies for enhancing the language literacy skills of future English language teachers. Proficiency in language literacy is crucial for educators, influencing their ability to model language use, deliver clear instruction, assess student progress, and engage in ongoing professional development. Drawing upon theoretical foundations such as sociocultural theory, constructivist theory, and communicative language teaching, this article proposes holistic approaches that integrate theoretical understanding with practical application. Key methodologies include integrated curriculum design, practical teaching experience, collaborative learning, peer feedback, and the integration of technology. By adopting these methodologies, teacher education programs can empower future English language teachers to become proficient communicators and facilitators of language learning, enriching the educational experience for their students.
