Abstract

The article examines the role and importance of formative assessment in improving students’ English language performance. It highlights the use of formative assessment methods for analyzing, monitoring, and enhancing language learning processes. Particular attention is paid to the application of formative assessment in solving problems related to feedback, self-regulation, motivation, and learner autonomy. In addition, the significance of formative assessment in developing professional competencies of English language learners is analyzed.
